Module Challenges

In our Module "Be a Maker" we have been learning about inventors, making things and how to use our Habits of Character to work together (perserverence, collaboration, initative and respect). The students were asked to complete two different challenges using our Habits of Character: (1) The Jump Rope Challenge and (2) The Cup Tower Challenge. In the Jump Rope Challenge, students were asked to create a variety of different shapes using 1 jump rope (square, circle, heart, etc.). The challenge was that they all had to work together and all had to be touching the jump rope at all times. This took a lot of collaboration and working together! In the Cup Tower Challenge, students had to work together to build the highest tower. The challenge was they all had to contribute and each only got 5 cups. The students showed great perserverence and collaboration- even when their towers fell down. We practiced listening to others ideas, overcoming set backs, talking it out and never giving up.
